Algorfa is a small municipality in the Spanish province of Alicante in the Valencia region with an area of approximately 18 km². In 2007 Algorfa had only 3,645 inhabitants. Algorfa is located on the river called Segura. It is an agricultural village where the inhabitants mostly work in the citrus plantations of Vega Baja de Segura. Just outside the municipality of Algorfa is the special neo-gothic church that was built at the beginning of the 19th century. If you are in the area, it is advisable to visit this church. A market is held in Algorfa on Wednesdays. The town of Algorfa can be reached within 30 minutes from Alicante airport and San Javier Murcia airport. The beautiful wide sandy beaches of Guardamar del Segura are just a 15-minute drive away.
