Beaches beckon for a variety of reasons. Sunbathe, swim, snorkel, water sports, volleyball, frisbee, read, hike, look for shells. The list is endless. For some, however, a sandy beach is first and foremost the ideal place to indulge the artistic impulses. The end products of these artists are unfortunately short lived. That is a shame, because over the years beautiful 'sand art' has been made on the costas. Sometimes funny, sometimes serious, sometimes grand, sometimes subtle, sometimes deceitful. But at least worth taking a look at a few photos of some of these short-lived works of art.
