Our costas have an almost endless supply of dining options. Almost all culinary corners of the world are represented on the menus of the countless restaurants. It is therefore pointless to try to give an overview of what the international cuisines in the region have to offer. In this section we therefore limit ourselves to the restaurants that offer something extra, so that at the end of their dinner guests can look back on hopefully good food, but certainly a different experience.
We start at Patio Andaluz. This restaurant along the N332, just south of Torrevieja, has a purely Spanish atmosphere. Patio Andaluz has a long history. On several nights of the week, guests are treated to a show of authentic flamenco dancers, singers and guitarists. The ambiance of a typical Spanish patio is enhanced by the grapes that grow along the walls.
Villasalada Restaurant goes the extra mile in their effort to give guests an unforgettable Spanish experience. This restaurant, which specializes in Mediterranean cuisine, is located on the road from Torrevieja to Quesada. In addition to a show of flamenco dancers, the dinner guests also get a show with Spanish horses. These animals are known for their intelligence and elegant movements. Very different, but also unique, is a dinner at Las Cuevas in San Miguel de Salinas. This restaurant is located in caves, which date back to the early 16th century. That was the time when, according to tradition, the Archangel Michael built a church and thus founded San Miguel. Due to a lack of useful building materials, the first inhabitants took shelter in the many caves. By merging some of those caves, the restaurant has created a romantic and authentic setting with several cozy alcoves and alcoves. The original interior has been kept intact as much as possible.
To be clear: this selection of restaurants has been chosen for the special experience one can have there. In this section, we do not want to judge the quality of the food in these three eateries.
