Holidaymakers return to Spain

Holidaymakers return to Spain - Van Dam Estates
2nd July 2020 author: Remco van Drie

Since the end of the lockdown we see that it is getting busier on the coasts. Mainly we see Spaniards who flock to the Costa Blanca and Costa Cálida. Especially with the current temperatures in Spain, this is very understandable.

The areas where many Northern Europeans in particular have a home or celebrate their holidays are still fairly quiet, but we also see that it is slowly getting busier. Many are reluctant to come to Spain by plane. Certainly the people who consider themselves to be at risk will not come to Spain or in any other way than planned.

Alicante airport has a number of security measures, such as scanning the body temperature when walking through a gate before arriving at the baggage belts.

This summer there will be additional rules to prevent infections from Covid-19. Everyone must respect this because there are heavy fines for violation (maximum € 30,000). Signs with these rules are posted at all communal swimming pools. These are, for example:

  • disinfecting the hands before and after access to the common area;
  • keep a distance of at least 2 meters;
  • limited number of persons is allowed in the pool (approx. 75%);
  • daily check of the water;
  • 2 or 3 times cleaning of the objects that can cause contamination;

In general, this will incur additional costs for the community to arrange this. Some communities have decided not to do this, so that the pool cannot be used.
