Animals and water are a golden combination. That idea is the foundation of four theme parks near Benidorm. Let’s take a look into the world of fun at Aqualandia, Aquamarina, Mundomar, and Terra Natura. These four parks are actually two combinations of large parks built around the themes of animals and water.
Aqualandia is a large water park covering 150,000 m². It features some spectacular slides, including one of the highest slide capsules in the world. The numerous water attractions are divided into three categories: for children, medium level, and extreme. The last group includes rides with telling names that will appeal to thrill-seekers, such as Big Bang and Verti-Go.
The sister park Mundomar mainly targets younger visitors. The focus here is on interaction with various animals. You can swim with sea lions or meet dolphins with the help of animal trainers and learn about their behavior. Children can also take photos with dolphins. In addition, the park is home to penguins, parrots, and meerkats.
In Terra Natura, many more animals can be admired. This park spans an impressive 320,000 m² and is divided into four zones (Europe, Asia, America, and the rest of the world). It’s home to around 200 animal species, 50 of which are unfortunately endangered. Throughout the park, you’ll also find 160 different tree species. Terra Natura offers daily shows and is part of a growing group of zoos aiming to remove as many visual barriers as possible for an optimal visitor experience.
Aquanatura, a smaller water park connected to Terra Natura (a quarter the size of Aqualandia), may be less spectacular but still offers highlights like the 150-meter Aquasnake and the 105-meter Zig Zag. For adults, the Kamikaze and Speed Hole slides are popular. The youngest visitors can enjoy a water castle where they can search for hidden treasure.
